The water level of all the major rivers - Lohit, Kamlang, Noa Dehing-and their tributaries, especially Tezu Nala, Tabang Nala, Sibiri and Denning Nala, are in full spate, an official release said, adding that the road communication between Tezu and Tinsukia via Parsuram Kund and Alubari ghat remained cut off since Tuesday.
The Border Roads Organization (BRO) reported landslides at three locations between Tohangam and the Brahmkund/Parsuram route. The overflowing waters of the Sibiri river has inundated many houses in Alubari area, including that of local MLA Chow Tewa Mein and Kids Foundation School, while the water of Dihing river is reportedly entering Dharampur area, overflowing the embankment.
Tezu and Namsai towns are also facing waterlogging and the situation is worsening in Sunpura circle with the water of Balijan river inundating many dwelling houses and the VKV there. The affected villagers and VKV students are being shifted to safer places.
Lohit deputy commissioner R K Sharma, who is also the chairman of the district disaster management authority (DDMA), has directed officers of all outpost administrative centres to remain vigilant and constantly monitor the flood situation.

The water resources department has been engaged to monitor the flood situation in and around the township. A few houses and the power house of Sunpura have reportedly been inundated by rainwater. Loss of livestock and crops are also reported.
