Cine Club closing ceremony

Guwahati: The closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebrations for the Gauhati Cine Club (GCC) began on Saturday with a three-day programme that will include interactive sessions with filmmakers and screening of movies.
The presiding committee of the club urged youngsters and new filmmakers to explore the region and make an attempt to highlight the region through cinema to the rest of the world."We have only started our journey. Everything has changed in contemporary times and cinema has undergone a sea of change. We need to keep pace with the times. It is here that we require young blood to show the potential of the region to the rest of the world," said AK Absar Hazarika, president of the club. In the next two days, two movies made by Assamese director Hemen Das and Parsi director Oorvazi Irani would be screened.
