Children's film festival kicks off in Dimapur today

Guwahati: The Children's Film Society, India (CFSI) and the Directorate of School Education, Nagaland government, in association with Cine Darbaar, has organized a two-day children's film festival in various schools at Dimapur. The festival begins on Monday.
On the opening day, the films to be screened include Kima's Lode - Beyond the Class (2015), directed by Zuala Chaangte, Nokpokliba (2005) by Meren Imchen and Goopi Gawaiya Bagha Bajaiya (2013) by Shilpa Ranade.
On Tuesday, Krish, Trish and Baltiboy (2009), directed by Munjal Shroff and Tilakraj Shetty, will be screened.
The festival kicked off on August 23 and showcased films in Kohima and Wokh.
Earlier this year, the CFSI had presented the second leg of the 19th International Children's Film Festival in Gangtok, Sikkim. Over a thousand students had attended the festival, whose itinerary incuded, besides film screenings, workshops, quizzes and discussions.
The CFSI was set up in 1955. It has produced over 250 films for children, including feature films, short films, animations, television episodes and documentaries.
Since inception, the organization has been making films for the Indian market. The festival is an effort to take the Indian film circuit to a global platform and encourage better film-making. It focuses on films which are both entertaining and educational.
