Aizawl: Administrative works and educational activities under the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) are set to come to a standstill from Thursday, as employees and teachers working under the council have announced an indefinite strike over non-payment of salaries for more than four months,

The decision was taken during a joint meeting of the Chakma District Council Employees’ Association (CDCEA), Chakma District Council Teachers’ Association (CDCTA), and heads of departments under CADC held at Kamalanagar on March 30. The meeting resolved unanimously to proceed with the agitation from April 2, citing the lack of response from authorities to their earlier representation.
