district has secured the first position in the state in the best practices category for implementing

Mission Uttaran

, an innovative initiative taken up to reduce mother and child mortality in the tea gardens.
An official communiqué said due to the convergent interventions under Mission Uttaran, maternal mortality had reduced from 15 (during 2020-21) to 9 (from 2021-to 22) in tea gardens of Cachar.
