Build flyovers & ease traffic flow in Aizawl: MP to Centre

Aizawl: Mizoram’s lone RS member, K Vanlalvena, on Tuesday urged the central govt to finance the construction of flyover bridges in Aizawl to ease the massive vehicular traffic snarls in the capital city.Speaking in parliament during Zero Hour, Vanlalvena said because Aizawl is located in hilly terrain, its roads are extremely narrow, resulting in perpetual traffic congestion. The ceaseless jams, he noted, adversely affect commuters, including office-goers, students, and teachers, often preventing them from reaching their destinations on time.He added that the incessant traffic snarls have thrown normal life out of gear and slowed down developmental activities in the city. “If MoHUA can construct flyovers in the cities of wealthy states, it should also construct them in the cities of poorer states,” he said.
