Book fair on GU campus

Guwahati: The Post Graduate Students’ Union (PGSU) of Gauhati University (GU) will organize this year’s book fair between January 24 and January 27 on the university premises.
This initiative aims at encouraging students to develop a reading habit.
The book fair will offer a good variety to the students. There will be many competitions for the students.
Parag Barman vice-president of PGSU, said the fest is open only to GU students.
“Our effort is to make the event popular among students and attract more and more participants. The organizers of the North East Book Fair have helped us arrange the stalls. Valuable books and bestsellers will be made available here,” Barman said.
The inaugural day of the book fair will also mark the beginning of the film festival in the university. Films made by eminent filmmakers from the state, including Jahnu Barua and Bhabendra Nath Saikia, will be screened.
The students will get an opportunity to present short films and documentaries made by them during the course of their study at the university.
