Body of man found in Silchar BJP office

Silchar: The body of a man was found under mysterious circumstances at the office of the BJP’s Cachar district committee in the Itkhola locality of Silchar on Thursday.Sources said the body of Sudhangshu Das (50) was found in the VIP room located on the first floor of the district office on Thursday morning. A team of police reached the spot after getting the information and sent the body to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for autopsy.Cachar BJP president Bimalendu Roy told the media that the deceased was known to the BJP office canteen staffer Nantu Roy. “Nantu used to keep the man (deceased) as a help to work in the canteen and the man used to sleep inside the office at times. This morning, Nantu dialled me to say that the the door of the room in which the man slept was locked from inside. A team of policemen came and broke open the door,” Bimalendu said.
