BNP leader’s wife meets him in jail
Shillong: Joint secretary general of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Salahuddin Ahmed’s wife Hasina, who met her husband in the undertrial prisoners’ cell at the Civil Hospital here on Monday evening, said she will try and take him to a ‘third country’ for better treatment.
“My husband is very ill. We shall legally try and take him to a third country for better treatment,” she told media outside the cell where her husband has been undergoing treatment for heart, kidney and liver-related complications since being arrested from the Golf Links area on May 11.

Thanking the local administration for providing ‘shelter and treatment’ to her husband, Hasina, who was accompanied by BNP functionaries, said she is yet to appoint a lawyer.
