Bezbaruah appointed TRIHMS new dean and director

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh govt has named Dr Naba Kumar Bezbaruah, a professor of anatomy, as the new dean and director in-charge of the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun.

He replaces Dr Moji Jini, a veteran surgeon and one of the pioneers of modern healthcare in the state, who was the institute’s first permanent director after its upgrade to a medical college in 2018.

Dr Bezbaruah’s appointment was finalised during a departmental promotion committee meeting on Wednesday. He is a senior faculty member with extensive experience in both teaching and hospital administration.

Prior to this role, he served as the dean in-charge following the illness and recent passing of Dr Shyamal Bhattacharya. Known for his strong administrative skills, Dr Bezbaruah has held several key academic and clinical positions at TRIHMS.
