GUWAHATI: The Assam State Jamiat Ulama (ASJU) has joined with the rest of the world in condemning the Paris mayhem and sending out a clear message that Islam is against all forms of terror.
The ASJU, headed by All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal, on Thursday took out a protest rally here against the Paris attack.
ASJU said that no religion in the world sanctions killing of innocent people or any act of terror, and Islam is very much against all forms of violence.
“Islam never sanctions any form of killing or violence. Those who are involved in act of terrorism in the name of Islam or Muslim are never sanctioned by Islam. The killings in Paris last Friday by ISIS is an anti-Islamic act,” ASJU general secretary Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Quasimi said. The protestors displayed placards condemning the violence by ISIS in Paris and other parts of Middle East.
ASJU has also appealed to the people across the world to work unitedly to root out the acts of terrorism.
The ASJU had earlier also made it clear that those who are involved violence in the name of Islam in fact are indulging in anti-Islamic activities as the religion always espouses peace and tolerance.
Last year, the ASJU organized an anti-terror conclave to reiterate that violence has no place in Islam.
The conclave was organized in the aftermath of Burdwan blast leading to investigation on presence of terror link in Assam. Speakers at the conclave also reiterated that a terrorist cannot be a Muslim, and appealed to cooperate with the government for tackling terrorism.
