Assam govt reshuffles 15 bureaucrats ahead of polls

Guwahati: In a sweeping reshuffle of the bureaucracy ahead of the assembly elections, state govt has transferred 15 senior IAS and state service officers across districts and departments.

According to the order of the personnel department, home and political department’s commissioner & secretary Partha Pratim Majumdar has been posted as district commissioner of Bajali, replacing Mridul Kumar Das, who has been moved as additional secretary to home & political and women & child development departments, besides taking charge as state coordinator of NRC and CEO of the e-Foreigners Tribunal Project.




Director of employment & craftsmen training Narendra Kumar Shah has been shifted to the chief minister’s secretariat as secretary in place of Aditya Vikram Yadav, who in turn will replace Pronab Jit Kakoty as DC of Lakhimpur. Kakoty has been posted as additional secretary in the skill employment & entrepreneurship department and director of employment & craftsmen training.

Joint secretary in the general administration department Preeti Kumari has been posted as the new DC of West Karbi Anglong, replacing Saranga Pani Sarma, who has been moved as secretary in the transport department and state project director of the inland water transport development society.

Joint secretary in the finance department, Ayushi Jain, has been appointed Darrang DC in place of Pubali Gohain, who will take charge as Golaghat DC. The Golaghat district incumbent DC Parag Kumar Kakaty has been posted as additional secretary in revenue & disaster management and additional CEO of ASDMA.

Meenakshi Das Nath, the present additional CEO of ASDMA, has been relieved from this charge and she will continue as the secretary of the revenue & disaster management and project director of Assam Integrated River Basin Management Project.

Baksa DC Gautam Das has been moved as secretary in panchayat & rural development, while Bodoland Territorial Council secretary Dhiraj Saud has been posted as new DC of the district.

Chirang DC Jatin Bora has been transferred to the general administration department as secretary, while BTC secretary Gakul Chandra Brahma will be the new Chirang DC.
