Arunachal univ, NRSC ink MoU to study lightning

Itanagar: In a step towards strengthening research on extreme weather events, the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Isro, to study lightning phenomena and associated atmospheric processes in Arunachal Pradesh.

The collaboration aims to enhance scientific understanding of lightning and thunderstorms, which pose a threat to life, property and infrastructure in the state due to its mountainous terrain & monsoon-driven wind circulation, a report from RGU said.
