Arunachal sweeps medals at National School Games

Arunachal Pradesh bagged 18 medals, including two gold, six silver and 10 bronze ones in the ongoing 59th National School Games in New Delhi.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh bagged 18 medals, including two gold, six silver and 10 bronze ones in the ongoing 59th National School Games in New Delhi.
Karatekas won 14 medals which included one gold, six silver and seven bronze medals while Judokas added a gold and two bronze medals to the state's tally. The boxing team won a bronze medal, official sources said here today.

Ngongchen Hodong of Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) won gold in the under-17 boys' Karate category. The silver medals in the same category were won by Bulang David, SLSA, Banenso Towsik, Government Higher Secondary School, Tezu and Simonso Sinya, Government Higher Secondary School, Hayuliang.
Samanta Das from Tezu won silver in the under-19 boys' Karate division.
Minam Tekseng and Johny Mangkiya also won silver medals in the under-19 girls' individual Kumite category.
Teshi Taram and Bangram Tungi from Itanagar, and Sadan Yun from Tezu won a bronze medal each in the under-19 boys' group. Goda Asha and Tap Mania won bronze in the under-17 girls' category while Juna Dada and Kambung Wangsa achieved the same feat in the under-19 girls' category, sources said.
