Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh health and family welfare minister Biyuram Wahge met governor KT Parnaik at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday to discuss the launch of the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, the 8th Poshan Maah, and other health-related initiatives.
During the meeting, the governor emphasised that the nationwide campaign focused on women’s health must be implemented in mission mode, with collective commitment and urgency, according to an official statement from Raj Bhavan.
He stressed that women’s well-being is not only essential for their own lives but also forms the foundation of strong, healthy, and empowered families. “A woman’s good health nurtures generations and contributes directly to building a resilient society,” Parnaik said.
Underlining the need to strengthen the healthcare delivery system, the governor called for ensuring that quality medical care, preventive measures, and awareness programs reach every woman — especially those in remote and underserved areas.
He urged all stakeholders to work together to make healthcare accessible, affordable, and effective for women across the state. Parnaik also advised the minister to ensure the health sector is adequately supported with skilled manpower and the effective use of modern technologies.
“Healthcare is more than treatment — it is also about empathy, reassurance, and mutual respect,” he added.
