2 held with pistol & bullets, gold bars in Cachar district

Silchar: Two men were arresred with a .22mm pistol, magazines, three bullets, two suspected gold bars, two keypad mobile handsets and a screw driver in Cachar district on Tuesday night.SP Numal Mahatta said based on intelligence inputs, police carried out an operation in Katigorah and arrested the duo identified as Abdul Aziz alias Sanu (34) and Mohd Abdul Wahab (23). Both of them were nabbed from near a fuel station in Katigorah's Chowrangi area. A case (15 / 2024) under section 25 (1A) of the Arms Act was registered against them, he added.It was the second seizure of weapons in Barak Valley in the last three days. On January 21, a pistol along with some sharp weapons and 50,000 Yaba tablets were seized from a shop in Monosangan in Karimganj district.
