GUWAHATI: Four litterateurs from the state have won laurels from the Sahitya Akademi for their works in Assamese and Bodo languages.
Bijoy Shankar Barman and Sanchumai Khungari Baumatary won the Yuva Puraskar, while Toshprabha Kalita and Jatin Swargariye were decorated with the Bal Sahitya Puraskar.
Kalita won the Bal Sahitya Puraskar as a lifetime achievement award for her contribution to Assamese children's literature.

Swargariye, on the other hand got award for his work 'Birbalani Solu' (Stories of Birbal) in the Bodo language.
Barman, a poet, won the Yuva Puraskar for 'Ashokastamir', an anthology based on the subject of folklore and finding one's roots through nature.
