here seized at least 45 kg of

ganja

from two persons while they were trying to

smuggle the consignment

by concealing it in the toilet of one of the coaches of the

Howrah-bound Kamrup Express

at

Guwahati railway station

on Wednesday. The arrested persons have been identified as Baharul Islam and Dhola Choudhury.

"Acting on a tip off, our sleuths searched the train and nabbed the duo. Three neatly packed bags were concealed inside a toilet in the train. Inside the three sacks, there were at least 25 packets of ganza weighing around 45 kg," said railway police sources.

It is suspected that the duo brought the consignment from Manipur. "They were asked to deliver the consignment to an agent in New Jalpaiguri. For the delivery, they would have received Rs 3,000 each," a source said.

Earlier in March, railway police had seized 60 kg ganja at the railway station here. The consignment was on its way to Hazipur in Bihar from Dimapur.
