Guwahati: With just a day left for the election, a massive statewide confidence building exercise was carried out on Tuesday as security forces marched across the state, urging voters to vote without fear.
Assam police joined hands with the Central Armed Police Forces, including the Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Central Industrial Security Forces , and Sashastra Seema Bal, along with armed police from 18 states to execute the synchronised initiative.
According to Assam Police’s social media post, 42,000 personnel participated in coordinated marches that covered every police station jurisdiction across Assam. The large-scale mobilisation was aimed at instilling confidence among voters ahead of the polling and ensuring a peaceful and participatory electoral process.
“Across Assam, one message marched today- Vote without Fear. Vote in record number,” Assam Police posted on their social media page.
Marches were conducted in urban areas, semi-urban areas and remote areas alike.
