Guwahati: Four government hospitals of Assam at the district level have qualified for the Centre’s National Quality Assurance Standards (
NQAS

The NQAS certification, initiated in the country since 2018-19 to measure quality in the government hospitals, would be bestowed on Darrang district hospital during the state-level function to be held in the city to commemorate World Health Day on Thursday. Besides, Kathiatoli block primary health centre in Nagaon distrct, Golakganj block PHC in Dhubri district and Bhagyapur mini PHC in Golaghat district will also be conferred with the NQAS certification.
“Despite putting all its energy into the battle against Covid-19 in the last two years, we have been able to get NQAS certification for four hospitals. This is a huge morale booster for all the hospitals in the district level and distant areas. They can have the quality to shine despite geographical location,” state consultant (quality assurance) at National Health Mission, Assam, Dr
Rohini Kumar, told TOI.
Haflong civil hospital, Dima Hasao, has been adjudged as the best hospital followed by SM Dev Civil Hospital in Cachar district for
Kayakalp
award. On the other hand, Udalguri civil hospital is also going to be honoured with the Lakshya award for being the best labour room maternity operation theatre (OT) in Assam this year.
