3 militants held in Arunachal’s Khonsa
Dibrugarh: Three insurgents belonging to the NSCN-K (Nikki Sumi) faction were apprehended by a joint team of the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police during an operation in the Wancho Colony area of Khonsa in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district on Thursday.The three individuals taken into custody have been identified as Wingan Agan, 33, Jhonny Riba, 21, and Khechan Khetey, 30. All three are stated to be associated with the NSCN-K (Nikki Sumi) faction, an armed group operating in parts of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, an official statement said.A search of the apprehended individuals led to the recovery of two 7.65 mm pistols along with magazines, nine live rounds of 7.65 mm ammunition, three mobile phones, three SIM cards, and three GPRN letters. Brown sugar with an approximate street value of Rs 500 was also seized during the operation. Following the operation, all three apprehended individuals along with the recovered items have been handed over to Arunachal Pradesh Police at Khonsa for further investigation.
