3 killed, 7 injured in S Assam accidents

Silchar: At least three persons, including one woman were killed and seven persons injured in separate road accidents in Karimganj, Cachar and Dima Hasao districts of southern Assam over the past 24 hours.
Sources said one person died and five others were seriously injured in a collision between two motorbikes on NH-8 connecting Assam-Tripura at Cheragi in Karimganj district late on Thursday night.
Muzakir Hossain (20), a resident of Patharkandi, died in the accident. Among the seriously injured are two bikers, three pillion riders of the two motorbikes. The condition of two of them is said to be critical.
The injured, all in their teens, have been identified as Dipan Roy, Shyamal Roy, Shubham Sinha, Abdul Hannan and Ala Hossain.
Reports from Haflong said amid inclement weather a youth was killed when an uprooted tree fell on the motorbike which he was riding. Two pillion riders were critically injured in the accident which happened on Friday at Diungbra in Dima Hasao district.
The victims are yet to be identified.
An unidentified woman died in a road accident at Natun Bazar on NH-306.
