2 more Assamese from Singapore appear before SIT

Guwahati: Two more individuals from Assam, who are Singapore residents, appeared before the Assam Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is probing Zubeen Garg’s death.

Altogether, seven Assamese individuals living in Singapore have deposed before the SIT here, four more are yet to appear. The SIT has issued summonses to all of them.

“Today, Abhimanyu Talukdar and Tanmoy Phukan have come from Singapore and appeared before the SIT. Their interrogation is on and statements are being recorded,” special DGP (CID) and SIT chief Munna Prasad Gupta told the media.

Both are top office-bearers of the Assam Association Singapore and were present on the yacht at the time of Zubeen’s death, allegedly while swimming in the sea in Singapore on Sept 19.

Gupta said on Monday that four expats — Jiolangsat Narzary, Parikshit Sharma, Siddhartha Bora and Bhaskar Jyoti Dutta — deposed before the SIT.
