Guwahati: Over 10 flights operating out of Guwahati Airport were delayed on Monday due to dense fog, while three Guwahati-bound flights — two from Delhi and one from Bengaluru — were diverted to Kolkata on Sunday night due to dense fog, sources said.
At Guwahati Airport, of the 10 delayed flights, at least 4 belonged to IndiGo.

The two Delhi–Guwahati flights — one operated by IndiGo and the other operated by AirIndia Express — and one Bengaluru–Guwahati flight operated by Air India Express could not land in Guwahati on Sunday night due to dense fog and were diverted to Kolkata.
Airline sources said two recovery flights were operated from Kolkata to Guwahati by AirIndia Express on Monday morning to bring back the stranded passengers.
Additionally, one flight from Bangkok to Guwahati that was scheduled to land in the city on Sunday night was rescheduled due to inclement weather, and it arrived in Guwahati on Monday morning, sources said.
“There was a sudden visibility drop at Guwahati Airport on Sunday night,” an airline official said.
Anticipating bad weather, AirIndia Express has cancelled two other flights from Guwahati to Dibrugarh and Guwahati to Imphal, with advance notification being sent to passengers on Sunday. These flights were scheduled to fly on Monday.
