Work starts to lay block tiles on unpaved road in Sector 84
Gurgaon: Manesar mayor Inderjeet Kaur Yadav on Saturday inaugurated work to lay interlocking pavement block (IPB) tiles along both sides of a road connecting several residential societies in Sector 84.
The project covers the stretch linking societies, including Gurgaon One, Spaze Privy AT4, Devaan Pivotal, The Coralwood and SS Almeria. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 60 lakh.
Residents have long demanded paving the pathway along the road, citing problems with dust and mud during the rainy season caused by the unpaved stretch.
Speaking at the event, Yadav said the civic body is committed to improving basic infrastructure and ensuring development across the municipal area. She also assured residents that their grievances would be addressed promptly.
“The doors of my home and office are open 24 hours for public welfare works. Residents won’t have to make rounds of the office for any kind of work related to MCM, just inform me,” she said.
Residents present at the stone-laying ceremony said they had earlier raised the issue with the corporation, seeking the construction of a paved pathway to address the daily inconvenience faced by commuters and pedestrians.
Ward 19 councillor Ravi Yadav and executive engineer Mandeep Dhankhar were among the officials present at the event.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, senior deputy Mayor Praveen Yadav held a meeting with officials of the engineering wing of MCM. He conducted an in-depth review of the development works underway in the corporation area. In the meeting, emphasis was laid on completing civil works before the monsoon.
He said the wards where work on roads, drains and drainage is underway should be completed on priority so that the public does not face problems during the monsoon.
