Gurgaon: A 31-year-old woman died after a dumper truck rammed into a panchayat garbage tractor from behind on Chandu-Badli Road, trapping her between the two vehicles, on Friday morning. Police said the dumper driver fled. Poonam Rani, a resident of Chandu village, stepped out of her house around 6.30am to dispose of household waste in a mini tractor deployed by the gram panchayat for garbage collection. According to the complaint filed by her husband, Pawan Kumar, the tractor was parked on the roadside with its indicator on. "As Poonam was putting garbage into the trolley, the dumper loaded with soil came at high speed and hit the tractor from behind," the complaint stated. The force of the collision pushed the tractor into a nearby electricity pole. The tractor driver, Satish sustained injuries in the crash. "A case was registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS," an officer said.
