Water crisis, poor roads plague residents of Nirvana townsip
GURGAON: In the absence of basic infrastructure, residents of Nirvana township have been facing a lot of difficulty. People have claimed that the builder has not fulfilled its commitments that were promised at the time of selling apartments in the premium townships.
The builder had given possession of these flats to residents five years back. But they alleged that basic facility like provision of municipal water has been denied to them.

"With more and more residents moving into Nirvana, this problem has started taking alarming proportions. Residents have to order for water tankers to meet their daily requirement of water. This inspite of the fact residents pay a fixed amount as water bill to the builder, Unitech. A water storage reservoir should have been in place keeping the requirement of residents in mind. But that has also not been built," said Sanu Kapila, president of Nirvana RWA.
Not only the water crisis, residents say that they are greatly inconvenienced, thanks to the poor condition of the roads in the township.
"These roads have potholes resulting in mishaps. Also earlier, we were told that the the Nirvana club was meant solely for the residents. The builder had even taken a mandatory club membership fee from each resident at the time of selling of the property. The builder is now using this supposed to be exclusive club for holding wedding parties, corporate events etc. No provision for underground parking was made in the club premises and the cars line up outside the club creates nuisance for residents," another resident said.
Nirvana was supposed to a gated community but the builder has not completed the construction of boundary wall yet. The residents allege that this is a serious security hazard.
"Moreover the entry to Nirvana from the Golf Course Extension Road is in a pathetic state with garbage and construction waste dumped on both the sides of the road," added Kapila.
The Nirvana Residents Welfare Association (NRWA) say that they had already brought these issues to the attention of the builder. "A number of mails have been sent to the managing director, Ajay Chandra, but the NRWA has got no response from his office," said the RWA representative.TOI tried to contact the builder several times, but they were unavailable for comments.
