Truck hits ambulance from behind, two sisters killed

GURUGRAM: Two women were killed near Kherki Daula toll plaza after a truck hit the ambulance in which they were travelling in the early hours of Friday.


While the driver reportedly fled the spot after the collision, the police impounded the truck. Baby (25) and her sister Sonam (17), residents of Khandsa village were headed to Gurugram in the ambulance.

Sonam, who had high fever since Thursday evening, was earlier rushed to a private hospital in IMT

Manesar

by her family. After keeping her admitted for around 5 hours, the doctors had advised Sonam’s family to take her to a bigger hospital.

Following this, Baby headed towards Gurugram with Sonam. Just after the ambulance crossed the toll plaza at around 2.15am, it was hit by the truck from behind, police said. The collision was so severe that the ambulance doors broke and Baby fell on the road. She then got crushed under the tyre of the same truck. She suffered injuries in her abdomen and the left side of her body and died on the spot. Sonam, who sustained serious injuries too, was declared brought dead at

Civil Hospital

in Gurugram.

An FIR was registered at Kherki Daula police station under sections 279 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others, 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC.
