Three members of Kaushal gang held after gunfight

GURUGRAM: The special task force (

) on Wednesday arrested three members of

Kaushal gang

, after a brief

gunfight

, from Dwarka Expressway.

According to police, Sandeep alias Bandar (a shooter in the gang), Krishan and Rahul alias Billa were wanted in property dealer Jaidev alias JD’s murder case.

Police suspect trio’s involvement in other sensational murder cases too. On Wednesday, STF inspector Sonu Malik got a tip-off that the trio were moving around Dwarka Expressway on a scooter.

A team led by inspector Malik laid a trap and on spotting them signalled them to stop. However, the trio tried to speed away and in their effort fired at the officers. However, the trio was overpowered and taken into custody. The scooter they were riding on and two country-made pistols were recovered from their possession. During the interrogation, the trio revealed that it was gangster Amit Dagar who introduced them to Kaushal gang. “They confessed to have killed property dealer Jaidev to avenge the murder of Kaushal’s friend Randhawa in 2003. They also revealed that Sumit, Rajan, Ashu alias Hukka, Sushil alias Malinga — other gang members — were also involved in the murder. They also confessed to have killed property dealer Vijay Batra alias Tantrik for not paying them Rs 25 lakh. Santish alias Pawwa, Rahul alias Banjara, Sandeep alias Timespass, Sonu boxer and Sujit Bihari were also involved,” Malik said.

“We are interrogating them and hope to solve a few other cases. They will be produced in a city court on Thursday. Kaushal in on our target and we have some vital clues about him. If all goes as planned, he will soon be behind the bars,” said IG K K Rao, chief of STF. It may be noted that 14 henchmen of gangster Kaushal were arrested 10 days ago that include Ashu, Sushil alias Malinga, Satish alias Pawwa and Sumit alias Babua.
