Thieves steal car tyres, alloy wheels at BPTP society

Gurgaon: Thieves stole the tyres, including alloy wheels, from two cars — a Volkswagen Ameo and Maruti Ignis — parked in the visitor parking near the main gate of two BPTP societies in Sector 37D on Tuesday.
They also attempted to steal tyres from another car but failed, cops said.
Residents of BPTP Park Serene and BPTP Park Generations lodged complaints with the police. However, no case has been registered yet.
Around 2am, Divyansh Dayal, a BPTP Park Serene resident, and Nikunj P Tanna from Park Generations were alerted by the police about the theft.
Divyansh — a businessman — said the Volkswagen belonged to his friend, Suyansh, who was visiting. "The thieves placed bricks under the car for support while stealing the tyres. Our loss was around Rs 70,000," he said.
He added that the security team refused to take responsibility, as residents were instructed to have visitors park outside.
Nikunj — an engineer at an MNC — whose Maruti Ignis lost four tyres barely a month after installing new ones, estimated his loss at Rs 40,000.
"The thieves picked up bricks from near the guard post, yet no one noticed them," he said.
Arjun Kumar Gupta, another resident, said that thieves attempted to remove his car's tyres but left after loosening the bolts.
According to Park Generations RWA president, Ankit Modi, the authorities plan to install halogen lights, a barricade, and CCTV cameras to prevent future incidents.
