GURGAON: A 19-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the fourth floor of a residential building in Bhangrola village after his family discovered about his live-in relationship, police said on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Vishal, was a native of a village in Agra and was working for a private company in Manesar. He had been living in a rented house in Bhangrola village.
According to police, Vishal was in a live-in relationship with a young woman. The couple had rented the accommodation after introducing themselves to the landlord as husband and wife.
The families of both Vishal and the woman had recently become aware of their relationship.
Police believe Vishal had been under mental stress following the development.
On Saturday night, he allegedly jumped from the fourth floor of the building.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but was later declared dead by doctors, officials said.
Police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination and are recording statements from family members as part of the investigation.
