on Friday by the
Juvenile Justice Board
.
The board also opened the sociological and psychological reports prepared on the 16-year-old boy who, according to the CBI, murdered Pradhyumn because he wanted an exam and a parent-teacher meet postponed.
A ruling on whether the boy will face trial as an adult may be delivered in the next hearing on December 20. The
juvenile
accused will, in the meantime, continue to stay at the observation home in Faridabad.
Judicial magistrate (first class) Devender Singh heard arguments on the
bail
application. On one occasion, the CBI counsel and the juvenile’s lawyer were involved in a heated exchange. The latter presented a character certificate of the juvenile but the board did not take the document on record.
The lawyers also argued over the sociological and psychological reports. “The Juvenile Justice Board will look into all aspects, including the reports, when it gives out its verdict on December 20,” said Sushil Tekriwal, the lawyer representing Pradhyumn’s father Barun.
Under Section 15 of the Juvenile Justice Act, the board had formed a committee to prepare the sociological and psychological reports. A clinical psychologist from Rohtak Medical College helped prepare the reports.
