YAMUNANAGAR: Taking the total number of coronavirus positive cases to three in Yamunanagar district, one more
Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) worker (58) of
Shadipur
village in Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation (MC) area tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday, told Yamunanagar civil surgeon, Dr
Vijay Dahiya.
"A 58-year-old TJ worker of Shadipur village tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday. He had returned after attending a Jamaat event from
Maharashtra and reached Yamunanagar on March 19. The patient was already kept under a quarantine facility and he has been shifted to
ESI Hospital
, Yamunanagar for treatment. We have launched his contact tracing campaign in Shadipur area”, told Dr Vijay Dahiya.
"Earlier on Saturday, two more TJ workers (19 and 35) of
Mumidi
village area of Yamunanagar MC had tested positive for Covid-19 and a total of 26 of their contacts were traced and their samples sent for Covid-19 tests", told Dr Vijay.
Yamunanagar deputy commissioner (DC) Mukul Kumar also confirmed third cases in district, he told TOI, “Third Covid-19 positive case has been reported from Shadipur area of Yamunanagar and the man had returned to Yamunanagar on March 19, after attending a Jamaat event at Maharashtra.”
“Both Mumidi and Shadipur areas fall in Yamunanagar MC jurisdiction and these have been sealed and declared containment zones. The administrative, police, and health department teams are working on the ground and a mass door-to-door survey has been launched to further detect any suspected cases in these areas”, told

Dr Vijay told, “So far, we have collected a total of 275 samples in Yamunanagar district, out of which we have received reports of 215 and the results of 60 samples are awaited. Out of the results received, 212 tested negative and 3 tested positive for Covid-19."
Up to Sunday, April 12, 1.50pm, a total of three Covid-19 positive cases (all three of TJ workers) have been reported in Yamunanagar district.
