GURGAON: A one-day-old fetus was found in a vacant plot in Sector 93 on Thursday. The fetus was found wrapped in green cloth, police said. A passer-by, Sanjay, noticed the fetus around 12.30pm and informed the police, who launched an investigation into the matter.

An emergency response vehicle team, along with personnel from the Sector 93 police post reached the spot and secured the area. "The crime scene was inspected and residents questioned. We are investigating why the fetus was disposed of at the site and who did it," police said. The fetus was taken into police custody and sent for post-mortem examination.Police are also scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace those involved. Further action will be taken based on the post-mortem findings and evidence collected during the investigation.
