GURGAON: Harayana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday announced that the drivers of Nuh districts, who are driving on licenses procured from other states, will be made afresh at Gurugram and Rewari after taking driving tests.

Khattar was presiding over the 28th Meeting of Mewat Development Board (MDB) organized at Swantrata Senani Zila Parishad Bhawan in Gurugram today. Thousands of people of Nuh district will be benefited by this decision of the government as the main occupation in this district is driving.

It was told in the meeting that a large number of people in Nuh district are using HTV licenses procured from other states like Assam, Nagaland, Agra, Manipur, Mathura etc and majority of these licenses have been found to be fake when sent for verification by the Transport department.

Driving is main source of earning in Mewat region and considering this the chief minister asked the

Transport department Authorities

to take up registration of such people and then start a drive for conducting their tests for issuing fresh driving Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) at Driving Training & Research Institutes of Gurugram and Rewari.

The Secretary RTA Nuh will coordinate with his counterparts in these districts. Transport Commissioner Mrs Suprabha Dahiya apprised the meeting that the department has a list of about 10,000 such drivers.
