MCG directs timely completion of civic work, better garbage collection
Gurgaon: MCG additional commissioner Yash Jaluka on Wednesday directed officials to complete development works within stipulated timelines, maintain quality standards for the construction of stormwater drains and roads, and ensure timely garbage collection in ward 4 during an inspection of ongoing civic projects in the area.
Jaluka, accompanied by executive engineer Praveen Raghav, sanitation officials and other civic staff, visited several locations in the ward to review the progress of construction works, waste management and public sanitation arrangements.
Ward councillor Pardeep Padam was also present during the inspection. Officials reviewed roads, drains and public spaces and instructed field staff and concerned departments to ensure that residents do not face inconvenience during the execution of civic projects.
During the visit, the MCG team also reviewed garbage collection and cleanliness arrangements in the ward. Sanitation workers were instructed to conduct regular cleaning drives and maintain hygiene at public places, while officials ordered immediate corrective action in areas where deficiencies were identified.
“Regular monitoring of development and sanitation projects will continue, and negligence in execution of works will be dealt with seriously,” said Jaluka. Officials also directed agencies and field staff to pay special attention to construction quality and ensure that projects adhere to prescribed standards.
According to MCG officials, periodic inspections are being carried out to improve sanitation services, maintain the pace of development works and strengthen urban infrastructure and public amenities across the city.
“Officials inspected the waterlogging-prone areas and gave directions to make the rainwater harvesting systems operational. They also inspected the sites where stormwater drains have to be constructed and the sites of road construction in the ward. Since work orders have already been given to the contractors, the officials told them to ensure quality work is done,” said the ward councillor.
