GURGAON: A district court on Thursday extended the interim bail of a city-based lawyer, who is accused of stripping and assaulting a woman in Sector 14 after an argument between the two spiralled out of control.
The court of additional district judge deferred its decision on the accused lawyer AK Gupta's regular bail plea till the next hearing, slated for September 5.
This means Gupta will be out on interim bail, which was granted to him by the court on August 14.
This came a day after the victim's husband Suresh Yadav filed another FIR in the case, in which he alleged that the accused even tried to intimidate the family by allegedly orchestrating an attack on their son.
"My son's arm fractured in an accident on Wednesday. I believe that the accident was nothing but a planned attack by the goons sent by the accused," Yadav said.
Following the incident, the city police has provided security to the family, though deputy commissioner (west) Sangeeta Rani refused to divulge any details to TOI.
However, a senior police official has confirmed the filing of a second FIR. "We have registered a case of attack on the victim's son, but the accused has not been named in it, till we carry out a probe," he said.
On August 10, Gupta and his family allegedly assaulted the victim after their objecting to her walking her dog in a local park turned into a violent argument. The victim was admitted to a hospital with injuries and she is currently recuperating.
The accused was arrested and taken to a hospital after he complained of chest pain, from where he managed to give cops the slip.
