Judge kin: Gurugram cops to share details on Wednesday

GURUGRAM: A year after it drew sharp criticism for the botched probe into the murder of a Class 2 student on the campus of a CBSE school, Gurugram police finds itself under spotlight again as it probes why a bodyguard suddenly shot at a judge's wife and son in the middle of a crowded marketplace last Saturday.
The lone suspect - head constable Mahipal - has been in police custody since Saturday evening and has been questioned continuously by interrogators, but 72 hours on, no clear murder motive has emerged.In the school murder probe, they had made an arrest and floated a murder theory the same day, which CBI later proved wrong.
A senior police officer associated with the investigation said investigators would come up with a statement on Wednesday.
Police are expected to take Mahipal to the crime spot - Arcadia Market in Sector 51 - on Tuesday night to understand how the incident unfolded and redraw the sequence of event. SIT is expected to share details of the investigation a day before the completion of police custody of Mahipal.
