Jains demand FIR against Dadlani, Poonawalla for mocking monk

guru Tarun Sagar, the Jain community of Gurgaon has demanded registration of an FIR against duo. Meanwhile, in Rewari the community members sought their immediate arrest.

In a memorandum to police commissioner Sandeep Khirwar on Tuesday, a delegation of Gurgaon’s Jain community accused the duo of “hurting religious sentiments” by mocking the naked Jain monk.

The delegation, consisting Ravinder Jain, Abhay Jain, Naresh Jain, Devender Jain, Sandeep Jain, Ashok Jain, Shekhar Chand Jain and Raj Kumar Jain, in their memorandum said, “The comments made by the duo on their respective Twitter handles greatly hurt our emotions and disturbed our mental peace. Their comments are deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of our community by insulting our religion and religious beliefs. We hold our respectable and revered saint Muni Shri 108 Tarun Sagarji Maharaj in the highest esteem as the saint is showing the path of peace and non-violence to not only the Jain community but also the people across the world. He is to us a philosopher, a teacher, a guru and a spiritual guide. We appeal to you to register an FIR under sections 295A, 502, 153A of the IPC or other sections as you deem fit against the duo...”

The controversy started after Tarun Sagar addressed the Haryana assembly on Friday. He is a saint of the Digambar sect of Jainism, who don’t wear clothes as a part of their religious practice.

Meanwhile, the community in Rewari held a protest on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum to Rewari deputy commissioner Yash Garg demanding immediate arrest of the duo.
