Injured in private parts at work, man dies

unit, died on Thursday, following an injury in his genitals while he was forced to carry heavy boxes at work by the supervisor. The company refused to help the labour financially in seeking the medical treatment.

on July 1 when he lost his balance while lifting two heavy boxes simultaneously and the boxes fell on his genitals, causing him immense pain.

The company officials gave him painkillers, ointment. He later took medicines from a private clinic for two days and got himself vaccinated at an ESI dispensary but as his condition worsened, he visited a private hospital where he was diagnosed with blockage in his genital veins which required a surgery costing around Rs 2.5 lakh.

“The company and the contractor refused to help him financially. His friend told to take him to the government hospital the next day but he died at 1.30am,” said ACP Manish Sehgal, Bilaspur police station. The police have lodged an FIR against the company’s management under section 304a (causing death by negligence) and 120b (criminal conspiracy).
