A 27-year-old man, who sold vegetables for a living before losses forced him to wind up his business during the pandemic, was arrested last month for netting ₹21 crore by conning scores of people with work-from-home (WFH) offers.
Police said Rishabh Sharma of Gurugram was directly involved in 37 cases of fraud registered in 10 states and provided assistance in 855 others. TOI had earlier reported that a police team from Uttarakhand arrested him on October 28, tracing the bank accounts he had provided to some of his targets to transfer money.
