Hoax bomb threat triggers evacuation at Gurgaon’s DLF Phase-3 school
Gurgaon: Panic briefly gripped The Shri Ram School in DLF Phase-3 on Wednesday afternoon after the administration received an email claiming a bomb had been planted on campus. The school alerted police, triggering a full-scale emergency response.Within minutes, bomb disposal teams, dog squads, police units, crime branch officials and the fire brigade reached the spot. Officials later said the threat appeared to be a hoax. Early findings suggest it was sent from a foreign server, and technical teams are analysing the IP address and other digital clues to identify the sender. Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar said that while the threat was fake, the investigation is being pursued with full seriousness.Parents rushed to the school after hearing about the threat, leading to heavy traffic outside the school premises.
Sharing their reactions on the condition of anonymity, one parent said, "The moment we got the message from the school, our hearts sank. We didn't know what was happening inside or whether our children were safe. Those few minutes felt like hours." Another parent added, "Traffic was jammed outside the school because so many of us rushed there. We were terrified, but the quick response from the school and police gave us some relief."A third parent expressed frustration at the growing number of hoax threats targeting schools, saying, "This kind of mischief plays with the lives of children and parents. It shouldn't be taken lightly. We hope the police catch whoever did this."
