GURUGRAM: Two domestic helps and a cook allegedly carried out a burglary at the house where they worked in South City 1.

They allegedly spiked the food of the owners’ daughter, who was in the house, while her parents were away and then stole jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees from the house.

Police said that house owners

Gagan Chandok

and

Puja Sharma

went to Mumbai on February 25. To take care of their daughters, Ananya and

Mehar

, they hired two domestic helps,

Jeevika Shahi

and Arpita, introduced to them by their cook, Ramesh.

On Friday, during lunchtime, the helpers mixed intoxicants in the food and served it to the elder daughter Ananya, police said. However, she did not fall asleep. So, they forcibly fed her lemonade, which was also spiked, following which Ananya fainted.

The younger daughter Mehar was in another room when she received a call from their driver informing that the helpers left with Ramesh. Mehar checked the room and found her sister lying unconscious. She called and informed her mother, who instructed her to check the house. Later, it was found that cash worth Rs two lakh, silver utensils, and gold and diamond ornaments were stolen.

An FIR has been registered under IPC sections 381 (clerk or servant commits theft), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) at the Sector 40 police station.

“No arrests have been made yet. The accused are absconding and we are trying to track them down,” the police official said.
