Haryana sets up helpline for complaints on LPG denial

Gurgaon: Haryana govt has urged consumers to report any delay or denial in the supply of cooking gas cylinders and has set up helplines.

A govt spokesperson said on Friday that if any gas agency causes unnecessary delay or refuses to issue a cylinder, consumers should lodge complaints directly on the toll-free helplines of the respective companies. Bharat Gas users can call 1800-22-4344, while Indane Gas and HP Gas consumers can register complaints at 1800-2333-555.


"The companies will investigate complaints and take corrective action to ensure consumers do not face inconvenience," an official said, appealing to citizens that if they face any kind of problem in gas distribution, they should immediately contact the helpline numbers and get their issues resolved.

Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini also assured that domestic LPG, petrol and diesel supply across the state remains "completely normal and uninterrupted". "Rumours are being spread about disruption in domestic LPG gas supply due to war-like situations in West Asia," said the CM.

A meeting was held with senior officials of the food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department and representatives of oil companies. Oil companies assured that "adequate stock" is available in the state and gas supply is also being received continuously.

The CM said that in the supply of commercial cylinders, arrangements were made by giving priority to hospitals, educational institutions and other essential services. Oil companies are continuously making efforts to streamline the remaining supply.

The state gave directives to all deputy commissioners and superintendents of police to take immediate action against any kind of theft, black marketing or hoarding. The CM has appealed to the people of the state to avoid panic or stockpiling. The state govt is fully vigilant and committed to ensuring uninterrupted supply of domestic gas to every household, officials said.
