NEW DELHI: A court in Gurgaon on Friday sent Deepak Yadav accused of murdering his daughter Radhika Yadav to one-day police remand.
Deepak was arrested from his house following the murder. He was produced before the court, where police sought a two-day remand for further questioning.
Here's what happened Radhika 25, was shot four times by her father Deepak Yadav while she was in the kitchen of their home in Sector 57 around 10.30am.
Police say one bullet struck her neck while two hit her in the back.
The attack was reportedly witnessed by neighbours, who rushed to the home after hearing gunshots.
Radhika’s uncle Kuldeep, who lives on the ground floor, found her slumped on the kitchen floor.
Police said the killing followed a heated exchange between father and daughter over the tennis academy Radhika ran nearby.
Deepak confessed to the murder during initial questioning. He told the authorities that he was repeatedly taunted for depending on his daughter's earnings and had urged her several times to shut down the tennis academy she ran.
