‘They were holding a grudge’: Teen shoots schoolmate with father’s pistol in Gurgaon's posh society; victim critical
GURGAON: A 17-year-old boy allegedly shot his schoolmate with his father’s licensed pistol in Gurgaon’s Sector 48 late on Friday night, leaving the victim critically injured.
Police said the accused student and his friend, both minors, were arrested within hours of the incident.
According to police, a call was received at the control room around midnight about a boy being shot in the Sector 48 area.
When a team from Sadar police station reached the spot, they found that the injured teenager had already been taken to Medanta Hospital by his family.

At the scene, investigators recovered a pistol, a magazine, five live cartridges and an empty shell. Another magazine and 65 live cartridges were found in a box inside the rented accommodation of the accused, police said.
The victim’s mother told police that her son, a Class 11 student, had received a call from one of his school friends on Friday evening, asking to meet.
Initially, she said, her son refused, but the friend insisted.
The victim then went to the Kherki Daula toll plaza, where the accused met him and later took him to his rented flat in Sector 48, along with another friend. There, the accused allegedly fired at him with his father’s licensed pistol.

Police said the two boys had an argument two months ago, and the accused had been holding a grudge since then. “The pistol used in the incident belonged to the accused’s father, who works as a property dealer. The weapon was kept at home and accessed by the boy,” said a police officer.
The injured student remains in a critical condition. Police have booked the minors under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway.
