Government opens online transfer for teachers, vacant posts 8,031

Haryana government launched online transfers in August 2016 to prevent political interference in transfer of teaching staff and to reduce frequent shifting of teachers, which hindered children’s education mid-session. All those who have completed three years in one station are entitled to participate in the transfer process. It is mandatory for those who have spent five years in one place to participate. PK Das, additional chief secretary of the school education department, told TOI on Thursday,
“This policy has been brought to help out teachers who want to move to a place of their choice. Teachers will apply online, their credentials will be verified and then based on their merit and area of preference they will be given that posting.” Teachers feel that applying online will help in filing the vacant teachers gap in various district. Tarun Suhag, Haryana Primary Teachers Association said: “English is one subject where the students have not performed well in the entire state. Till the required number of teachers is not met the performance of students will not be satisfactory.”
The number of vacant posts in the primary section in Gurugram is 538. “If the lack of teachers in schools is met, then students will be given more attention. The lack of teachers should be completed by the department compared to the number of students in government schools, only then the level of education will be improved,” said Satyanarayan, Haryana School Teachers Association.
Mewat is the only district where the number of posts lying vacant in primary schools is the most. Mewat Development Agency (MDA) Shamim Ahmed, project officer said: “We are in the process of recruiting new teachers and it will be done soon.”
Many teachers say that they had been waiting for this order to come.
