Faridabad-Gurugram toll employees thrash bus driver, booked
GURUGRAM: A group of employees of the Faridabad-Gurugram toll plaza were booked for allegedly assaulting a Haryana Roadways’ driver on Tuesday. Both bus driver and toll plaza employees were injured in the clash and are undergoing treatment in a city hospital.
A police complaint has been filed in the matter by the roadways bus driver in DLF 1 police station, against the group of toll employees and some bouncers, under sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (assault or criminal force deterring public servant from performing his duty) and 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public function) of the IPC.
According to cops, the bus driver, Rajpal, got into an argument with toll plaza employee Sandeep, over the registration number of the bus. Sandeep had asked for its complete registration number, which Rajpal refused, as he would have to get off to check, said police. “Rajpal alleged he was beaten up by the toll employees and bouncers, while the toll employees alleged they were beaten up by the driver and conductor of the bus,” said ASI Amit, DLF 1 police station.
He added cops are investigating the matter and due action will be taken against the accused.
Notably, this is not the first time such an incident has taken place at a toll plaza in the city. The toll plaza on NH-8 at Kherki Daula has witnessed several such incidents in the past.
In December last year, a female booth operator was assaulted at Kherki Daula. The accused had asked her to lift the boom barrier for free passage, which she had refused. After this, the accused had lifted the barrier by himself, giving free passage to three other cars which were ahead of his as well.
