KARNAL: The crime investigation agency-II of the Panipat police has arrested three murder, carjacking, and robbery accused in a brief encounter in which two of them received bullet injuries in their legs.
Police claimed to have seized two country-made pistols and recovered a stolen motorcycle from accused Sachin 'Kuki' of Rohtak, Ashok 'Pintu' of Lohari in Panipat, and Dayanand of Kaithal, who are accused of killing Panipat taxi driver Mohit Soni for his car this October and robbing a liquor shop of Alupur village at gunpoint.
Panipat superintendent of police Shashank Kumar Sawan said that on Monday night, the cops had received an input that this gang had assembled to plot another robbery in the Sanoli police jurisdiction. When the team raided the spot, the gang fired upon it, forcing the cops to fire in retaliation.
