GURGAON: Work on converting the bus depot in Sector 10 into a fully electric station has gained pace GMDA and Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) have agreed to go ahead with the plan.
In December last year, GMDA approved the plan to convert the existing bus depot into an e-bus station keeping in view the proposed induction of 50 e-buses. But the plan could not be executed as GMDA wanted to be sure about when it would be getting e-buses. According to GMBCL officials, the transport department is procuring 550 e-buses, of which 50 each will be given to Gurgaon and Faridabad by the end of this year.
GMCBL has already started the process of getting electricity connections from DHBVN, while a tender for installation of charging bays will be floated soon, officials said on Monday.
